Captain B (Keith Bailey)
With more than 30 years of passionate fire service experience, Captain B is a recent graduate of the Managing Fire Officer program at the National Fire Academy in Emmittsburg, MD, Mentor of the Year (2015) for the Deer Park Volunteer Fire Department, Best Overall Cadet (1989) at College of the Mainland Fire Academy.
Captain B's unofficial start to his fire career was in 1972 when at age 5 he would watch www.imdb.com/title/tt0068067/. By the time he was 16, he was hanging out with the guys at his neighborhood volunteer fire station. After years playing sports, the times spent with these Hero's solidified his career path.
After graduating high school, Captain B was accepted in his local volunteer fire academy where he learned the basics. One year later, Keith was accepted as a cadet in the inaugural Fire Academy at the College of the Mainland where he was voted by his instructors Best Overall Cadet (1989).
Being a certified firefighter presented Captain with the opportunity to apply for a firefighting position with Houston Fire Department. In 1993 Captain B was accepted in the Houston Fire Department Fire Academy where he's been ever since.
Captain B continued his training to became a paramedic and incident safety officer. These experiences were instrumental factors in his understanding of firefighter safety. The experience taught his the importance of safety.
Today, Captain B is at the pinnacle of his Houston Fire Department career. During his off time he travels the country offering his insights using his yeas of passion and experience.
